War Against Spam III

8 December 2007

Some of you will be aware that we've been cracking down on spam in recent weeks.

We've been contacting clients who's email addresses have been exposed on the web and who are receiving excessive amounts of email - starting with the worst cases who receive literally hundreds of emails in a week. This will continue in the new year.

We've also just upgraded our dynamic spam filtering which should block a lot of unwanted emails, and updated our dnsbl settings which has resulted in the rejecting of thousands of emails per day instead of 'just' a few hundred.

If your email relays through our server, and you've been receiving a lot of spam, then you should notice a sharp reduction. There's always a chance that we've gone too far though, so please let us know if you have evidence of legitimate email being blocked.
