Sectigo Root Certificate expiry

3 June 2020

Some of you may have noticed problems connecting to websites in recent days following the expiry of a commonly used intermediate certificate supplied by COMODO (now Sectigo).

While most/all modern browsers are able to work around the expired certificate using cross-chainng, some older browsers and applications have encountered problems.

We have just wound up a rather lengthy process of renewing. re-issuing, or patching the intermediate certificate for all of our hosted websites which are using HTTPS, which should resolve the problem until at least 2028 when the next one expires.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and please let us know if you see any ongoing problems after today.
